Osha Root Tincture

Hand foraged from the mountains near Taos, New Mexico, this lovely root smells like a a strong, spicy celery to me. It’s important to note that I take only small amounts when I forage, to respect the plant and its ability to flourish. For centuries, native peoples have used Osha. It contains chemicals that might help fight bacterial and viral infections, and it has traditionally been used for these purposes. The root is know as an immune booster and as an aid for coughs, colds, and flu. Many people find the taste of Osha Root to be astringent. I love taking a droperful in a warm cup of water. As with all medicinal plants, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any health concerns, you should speak to your healthcare provider before taking.
